About Emily

Emily is a provisional psychologist who supports children, adolescents, and adults with a range of emotional, behavioural, and psychological concerns. She brings a warm, engaged, and thoughtful approach to her work, with a strong focus on building collaborative therapeutic relationships where clients feel heard, supported, and understood.

Emily’s practice is grounded in a strengths-based and trauma-informed framework. She values taking time to understand each person within their broader context, recognising the influence of lived experience, relationships, health, and environmental factors on wellbeing. Her work is guided by curiosity, compassion, and respect for each client’s individual goals and values.
Emily draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema-informed interventions. She is particularly interested in emotional regulation, anxiety, self-concept, and adjustment difficulties, as well as the impact of stress and adversity across the lifespan. Her therapeutic style is warm and responsive, with empathy, clarity, and collaborative goal-setting.

Alongside clinical practice, Emily brings several years of experience supporting adolescents and young adults in complex health settings. This background has shaped her ability to engage in meaningful and sensitive conversations, support people through periods of uncertainty and distress, and work collaboratively with families and community services.

Emily is committed to ethical, reflective, and person-centred care. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting clients to develop insight, confidence, and practical skills that support meaningful change over time.
