About Denise
Denise is a registered psychologist and clinical registrar, NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner, and the Clinical Lead at The Strengths Centre. She brings extensive experience from educational, community, and clinical settings, including many years working within disability-focused NGOs, school counselling roles, and private practice psychology.
Denise has served on state and national executive committees for Australian Psychologists and Counsellors in Schools (APACS) for the past 8 years, informing and connecting her to the most up-to-date understanding of child and youth mental health and disability supports within educational contexts. Through this breadth of experience, Denise has developed a strong appreciation of the developmental, emotional, relational, and environmental factors that shape wellbeing across childhood, adolescence, and family life.
Denise’s work is grounded in a strengths-based, neuroaffirming framework that values individual context, sensory and communication needs, lived experience, and personal goals.
As Clinical Lead, Denise provides clinical direction and supports the delivery of high-quality, ethical services, and reflective practice across the organisation. She is committed to fostering safe, respectful, and inclusive therapeutic spaces where clients feel heard, supported, and understood.
Her areas of interest include development and the wellbeing, emotional regulation, behavioural and environmental supports, perinatal and parenting mental health, and comprehensive psychological assessment of neurodivergent people. Denise integrates evidence-informed frameworks with a collaborative and compassionate style, supporting individuals and families to access meaningful strategies and build confidence over time.
Denise’s practice is informed by ongoing professional development, adherence to AHPRA and Psychology Board of Australia standards, and reflective clinical judgement. Her leadership aims to ensure that all care delivered at The Strengths Centre is consistent, practice-led, and aligned with the clinic’s values.
