Neuroaffirming psychology and NDIS support in Hornsby
About The Strengths Centre
Strengths-based, person-centred care for children, young people, adults, and families across the lifespan.

Understanding the person. Recognising their strengths. Supporting meaningful change.
At The Strengths Centre, we believe good support starts with understanding the whole person, not just a diagnosis or a list of difficulties. We provide evidence-based, strengths-focused psychology and behaviour support for children, young people, adults and families, with Occupational Therapy joining our team in 2027. Our clinicians work collaboratively with clients and the people important to them to understand individual strengths, needs and goals, and to translate these into practical, meaningful outcomes in everyday life.
Our approach is neuroaffirming, person-centred and individualised. We support neurodivergent people, people with intellectual disability and developmental differences, as well as children, adolescents and young adults experiencing mental health, emotional or behavioural challenges. Depending on individual needs, support may include psychological therapy, assessment, Specialist Behaviour Support, Early Childhood supports, NDIS therapeutic supports, consultation with families and other professionals, and capacity building across home, school and community settings.
Our Story
The Strengths Centre grew from Chercheuse Psychology, a psychology practice founded with a strong focus on supporting children, young people, families and people with disability. In January 2026, the multidisciplinary practice was rebranded as The Strengths Centre to better reflect the growth of our team, the breadth of the supports we provide and our increasingly collaborative approach to care.
While our practice has grown, the principles underpinning our work remain the same: recognising strengths, respecting individual differences, using evidence to guide practice and helping people develop the skills, confidence and support they need to participate meaningfully in their lives.
The Strengths Centre is operated by Chercheuse Pty Ltd.
Occupational Therapy Coming in 2027
Our multidisciplinary team will expand further in 2027 with the introduction of Occupational Therapy. This will allow us to provide more integrated support across psychological wellbeing, behaviour, development, participation and everyday functioning, while continuing to work collaboratively with families, schools and other professionals.
